I never knew this syndrome existed! Your son is so lucky. I hope the eye specialists recognize this syndrome and make it public knowledge. Otherwise many more will slip through the net so as to speak.
Quite by accident, we discovered why our 11-year-old son could not read
I was gathering books to return to friends one day when the book “Reading by Colors” by Carol Irlen caught my eye. As I was skimming through it, 11 year-old Anthony looked over my shoulder and said in a surprised voice, “Gee, those words look nice.”
I turned to him and said, “What do you mean NICE?”
Anthony explained, “The words are flat with the page and they’re not moving.”

It is shoking that even teachers have no idea what keeps 13% of their kids in prison..it feels like a conspiracy of the opthamologists

Ah, I don’t think it is wholely the teachers’ fault. Unless they have been given such information, it is highly unlikely that they will find out about it as this is almost specialist knowledge. I know, because my mother is a teacher and she is always worn out by her students that she does not want to start any thing after reaching home

oh no, of course it is NOT the teachers’ fault; the opthomogists of Michigan, I believe, took Irlen to COURT to fight against legitimizing thier method!!! It makes me want to sream. Just sit in on ONE screening and watch an illiterate kid read for the first time
